Located in downtown Houston, this theatre has been graced with a Tony Award. There are two stages found in the theater. There is the intimate ‘Neuhaus’ stage that can hold 310 visitors, and the ‘Hubbard’ stage is home to 774 people. After a recent renovation, it is an even better place to visit than ever before, including a lobby space with a skyline view, expanded restrooms, and new seats.
Museum of Fine Arts
This museum is located in the Houston Museum District,, this is one of the largest museums in the country and a favorite for senior activities. There are more than 64,000 works from all continents and over 6,000 years of history represented here. The amount and diversity of the art represented here means that our residents want to go back here time and time again.
Wortham Theater Center
Also located downtown, this performing arts center is available for ballet productions and opera. There are two theater options here, one of which has 1,100 seats while the other seats 2,405. There are a wide range of productions that feature here yearly.
Art Car Museum
This is a contemporary art museum that is privately held. The emphasis here is on otherwise unrecognized artists, fine arts, and art cars. It is a real interesting place to visit at least once.
Olive Garden Italian Restaurant
We could not go without mentioning one of the favorite senior activities that our residents have – EATING! The Olive Garden offers good meals at a reasonable price, and our seniors absolutely love coming here. This is a great change from the senior living meals that they are accustomed to, which makes this is a great place for something a bit special.
There you have it, a number of our favorite senior activities. Make sure that you opt for a senior living option where caretakers are actively trying to help seniors feel at home and comfortable with their surroundings. Just because you are in senior living does not mean that you should be bored.
