Sometimes going outside just is not an option – so what about bringing nature to you instead? If you want to start your own little garden, you probably want to watch the plants grow as well. If you are creating a major jar herb garden, you have the oy of live plants to your immediate living area and you are increasing your growing capacity at the same time. If you are going to grow the herbs, why not watch them grow as much as possible?
Craft #3 – Plastic Bag Hammock
If you have gone shopping in the last 10 years, chances are that you have a great deal of reusable bags throughout the house. However, chances are that you have a bunch of plastic shopping bags around. If you want a perfect solution for all these plastic bags, you can create a DIY hammock chair. If you have around 500 plastic bags, you can braid each plastic bag with rope and two spring link carabiners. If you think this only looks fancy, just remember that these can hold upwards of 220 pounds at any time.
Craft #4 – Knotted String Hanging Planter
If you go to a gardening store and get hanging plants, they are going to be rather expensive. You make a modern and functional hanging planter out of a bit of string, yogurt cups, and plastic takeout containers. It might take a bit of work, but this is one of the more fun eco-friendly activities for seniors.
Craft #5 – Tin Can Table Lantern
If you want to add some sparkle to an outdoor area without having to spend a great deal of money, these recycled tin can lanterns are a great way to do so. You can have a votive candle inside of the lantern and the gorgeous scattered light patterns are going to look spectacular when you puncture a few tiny holes. Given that the actual materials are free – it is one of those eco-friendly activities for seniors that you are going to have to try.
